| White Chocolate Chunk Brownie Mix Submitted by: Angela Sorotta Hinsdale NH
Ingredients:
¾ Cup flour
½ tsp sale
½ tsp baking powder
½ cup cocoa, unsweetened
1 cup white chocolate chips or chunks
¾ cup chopped walnuts
1 cup sugar
Prep:
In a 1-quart canning jar
Layer Flour-salt-baking powder
Add cocoa, shake jar slightly to level layer
Add chips and walnuts
Put the 1 cup sugar into a small food storage bag, seal and fit into top of
jar
Cover tightly
Baking method: be sure to include baking instructions (I put them on back of
jar)
PREHEAT OVEN 350 Grease/flour 8inch baking pan
Remove bag from jar.
Pour remaining ingredients into mixing bowl
Add 1 stick (1/2 cup)soft butter and beat well
Beat in 2 eggs and 1 tsp vanilla until creamy
Add remaining dry ingredients and stir well with wooden spoon (do not beat)
Mixture will be stiff. Spread in prepared pan Bake 20 to 25 min
Do not overbake. Cool before cutting |
| Cinnamon Oatmeal Pancake Mix Submitted by: Angela Sorotta Hinsdale NH
Ingredients:
4 cups quick cooking oats
2 cups flour
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup non-fat dry milk
2 TBL cinnamon
1 TBL plus 1 ½ tsp salt
3TBL baking powder
½ tsp cream of tartar
Prep:
Combine all ingredients mix well store in 8-cup jar
Cooking Method: be sure to include cooking instructions with mix
In med. Bowl, beat 2 eggs. Add 1/3 cup oil gradually while beating
Alternate adding 2 cups of mix and 1 cup water.
Pour prepared mix onto med-hot, lightly greased, griddle.
Cook until bubbles form in pancake, flip and continue 2-3 min. more |
| Apple Crisp Mix in a Jar

Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup old fashioned rolled oats
½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp salt
¼ tep nutmeg
1 cup chilled butter
Prep:
Combine all ingredients cutting in butter with pastry blender.
Seal mix in a zip-top bag, then into quart size canning jar with a tight lid
To give as a gift place in a basket with 2 cans apple pie filling
Baking method:
Spread 2 cans pie filling in lightly greased 13x9 baking dish
Sprinkle jar of topping over filling
Bake at 400 for 19 to 25 min or until filling bubbles and top is golden |
Ham and Split Pea Soup Mix

(attach cooking instructions on a ribbon & hang around mouth of jar)
Ingredients for mix:
1 (2.75) oz pkg gravy mix
1 TBL chicken bouillon granules
2 tsp celery flakes
2 tsp imitation bacon bits
2 tsp dried minced onion
1 tsp dried parsley flakes
1 ¼ cups dried split green peas
Prep:
Pour gravy mix into wide mouth jar
In a bowl, combine bouillon granules ,bacon bits, celery/onion&parsley
flakes
Pour into jar for second layer
Add peas for third layer.
Seal attach gift tag with instructions
Cooking Method:
Empty contents of jar into large saucepan.
Add 6 cups water
Heat to boiling, stirring often
Reduce heat; cover and simmer (stirring frequently) for 1 ½ hours or
until peas are tender |
Friendship Soup Mix
Submitted by: Ruthie Labarge, Groton, CTI put this into quart size canning jars at Christmas time
Ingredients: Place in jar in order listed
½ cup dry split peas
1/3 cup granular beef bouillon
¼ cup pearl barley
¼ cup dried minced onion
2 teaspoons dried italian seasoning
1.2 cup uncooked long grain rice
½ cup small macaroni (put into sandwich bag prior to putting into jar)
Cover and seal tightly/decorate jar for gift giving.
Instructions to attach to jar:
Friendship Soup Mix
To prepare soup carefully remove macaroni and set aside.
In a large saucepan brown 1 pound beef ; drain and add 3 quarts water.
Add 1 can (28oz) diced tomatoes and soup mix; bring to a boil.
Reduce heat; cover and simmer 45 min.
Add reserved macaroni and simmer 20 to 30 minutes longer enjoy. |
